The NOAA RNCs are geo-referenced, full-color images of NOAA's paper nautical charts, published by NOAA in the .BSB format. They are an official product of NOAA, and meet the S-61 Standard, Raster Navigational Charts, of the International Hydrographic Organization. Nautical chart features contained within an NOAA RNC provide a detailed representation of the U.S. coastal and marine environment. This data includes coastal topography, bathymetry, landmarks, geographic place names and marine boundaries. For each RNC there is information that includes the tags <number>, <title> (title), <coast_guard_districts> and <states>. Each RNC dataset is available for download as a .ZIP file. The <zipfile_location> tag includes the URL of download location, and the <zipfile_datetime> tag includes the date and time that the .ZIP file was created. RNCs have edition numbers and dates. These tags include the <source_edition> (equivalent to the paper chart), <raster_edition>, <ntm_edition> (Notice to Mariners edition), <source_date> (equivalent to the paper chart) and <ntm_date> (Notice to Mariners date). The Source Date is the date of the paper chart edition. The Notice to Mariners Date is the date when a new version of the RNC is created. Other information for each RNC includes the <nm_agency> tag which is NGA or U.S. Coast Guard, and the tags <doc> and <date> which represent the latest published document through which the RNC is cleared. The <cov> tag includes information describing the geographic coverage of the RNC.Coastal ChartNational Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Ocean Service (NOS), Office of Coast Survey (OCS)http://ocsdata.ncd.noaa.gov/idrs/inquiry.aspxNOAA's Nautical Inquiry Webpageownercontinualdatasetnm update agency: NGA; doc: 1424; date: 2024-04-06lnm update agency: USCG14; doc: 1324; date: 2024-03-26source edition last correction: 10raster edition last correction: 1ntm edition last correction: 397coast guard district: 14state: POregion: 40engoceanspanel type: Main Panel; number: 2828; title: ISLAND OF GUAM TERRITORY OF GUAM; file name: 81048_1.KAP; scale: 10000012.80147 144.335813.8348 144.335813.8348 145.102512.80147 145.102512.80147 144.4512.78333 144.4512.78333 144.416712.80147 144.4167panel type: Inset; number: 2829; title: COCOS LAGOON; file name: 81048_2.KAP; scale: 4000013.22431 144.632813.2814 144.632813.2814 144.67213.28353 144.673913.28353 144.6813.2814 144.681913.2814 144.698613.22431 144.6986S61 - IHO Product Specification for Raster Navigational Charts3.0BSBdataset2.39781379699707https://www.charts.noaa.gov/RNCs/81048.zipzipfile date and time: 2024-03-28T12:19:18Zdataset
